Hello! This time I will write about my trip to Okinawa. I went to Ishigaki Island, Taketomi Island, Hateruma Island, and Yonaguni Island.

Ishigaki Airport

The flight left at 10:00 a.m., but I headed to the airport early just in case. I went to the observatory to kill some time. Ishigaki Island has no tall buildings, so you can see far.

Flight time 30 minutes. Departure time was delayed by 5 minutes due to a delay in aircraft arrival. It was a propeller plane, not a jet plane. We walked down the runway to the aircraft. The plane will be ready for landing about 10 minutes after takeoff. If you want to go to the restroom, do it early.

Yonaguni Airport

As if on a tourist day, I received a bag of brown sugar and pamphlets at the airport.

The transportation to and from the inn was already here.

Kafu Inn

Basic Information

8800 yen~ per night (season fee 9000 yen).

Breakfast and dinner included.

Breakfast 7:30~, dinner 18:00~.

About 10 minutes drive from the airport.

Pick-up service is available (if you want to be picked up for your flight at 9:00 pm on the way back, you need to make a reservation by the day before).

Shower, washing machine, toilet, and refrigerator are shared.

Washing machine is 200 yen per time.

Air conditioning is available.

Yonaguni Honda

It is located two doors down from Kafu. I was able to rent a moped for 5500 yen for 1.5 days. It cost 5,500 yen for 1.5 days on a moped. There is a gas station right in front of the house, so you can refuel there when you return the car. Yonaguni is a fairly large area, so a moped is recommended.

Naama beach

The water was crystal clear and I could see fish clearly. There was a yonaguni horse touching in the park next to the park. I touched its nose, which was moderately elastic and pleasant to touch. (warm). According to the owner, there are other species of horses on the island, and the best way to tell them apart is that they have no patterns, they are all one color, and the smallest ones are called Yonaguni horses.

The westernmost monument

It takes 5 minutes by motorcycle to the west from Naama beach. If you go up the hill in the picture below, you will reach the location of the westernmost monument (30 seconds on foot). (30 second walk).

This is currently the only edge of the country where the public can go. It is said that when the weather is good, one can see Taiwan from here. I went there with high expectations, but could not see it. (Later, I found out that it is rare to be able to see Taiwan, and it may happen only a few times a year.)

The back of this monument shows the distance from here to each city. Taiwan is closer than Ishigaki Island!

The slightly elevated terrain here provides a good view of the city.

Horse

Horses and cattle graze in some parts of the island. Therefore, there may be horses and other animals on the road. At that time, the basic animals have priority.

There is a trap (ditch) called the Texas Gate to prevent animals from coming to the village. When riding a moped over the ditch, enter at a right angle to the ditch and go through it at once at a speed of 20~30km/h. If you enter at a strange angle or go through at the wrong speed, you may fall over. If you enter at a strange angle or go at the wrong speed, you may fall over.

Catacombo beach

There are many fish and crabs. Looking carefully, I found a moray eel in a crevice between the rocks.

As you can see from the pictures, the water is so clean and clear that I didn't realize there was a puddle and got my feet wet.

It is located on the east side of the island. The view from here is quite powerful.

tindavana

It is a 5-minute bike ride from the village. You can get there by going up the hill next to the police box. The entrance is at a curve and it is dark, so I passed it once.
